Research I: An Overview An introduction to conducting research in classrooms. Topics include `crafting the research question’ and research methods.
Research II: Action Research The process of conducting action research in the classroom will be covered. Topics include selection of research methodology, implementation of research, collection and analyses of data and discussion of findings.
Literature-Driven English Curriculum What is the Literature-Driven English Curriculum? What are the materials to be used? What is the process of designing the curriculum? These are some of the questions that will be answered during the workshop.
Language Testing I: An Overview
Language Testing II A practical hands-on workshop on creating an integrated, holistic assessment instrument that will test reading, writing, listening and oral communication skills.
Developing the Curriculum Covers theoretical and practical aspects of developing a curriculum. Developing Materials Workshop will cover selection, adaptation and development of materials that are aligned to a chosen approach to English Language Teaching (ELT).
ELT and Gender This seminar will address the issue of gender differences in the learning of EL. It will also look at selection of literature based on gender preferences.
ELT and The Use of Multi-modalities This workshop will explore the use of multi-modalities in the teaching of EL.
The Activity-based Literature Classroom (Secondary) This workshop will look into how the literature lessons can be made more interesting and fun for the lower secondary students. Alternative assessment instruments will also be explored. |
